Shri. Nand Khemka, Shri. Romal Shetty, Shri. Yann André Leroy, to Grace the Ceremony as Distinguished Guests.
Mumbai Maharashtra, 16th February 2025 – Amity University Maharashtra is set to celebrate the academic achievements of its graduating class of 2024 with the upcoming Convocation Ceremony, scheduled for 18th February 2025, at Shanmukananda Hall, Mumbai. The ceremony, will honour the hard work and dedication of students across various disciplines, marking the successful completion of their academic journey.
The highly anticipated event will feature Shri. Nand Khemka, Chairman of SUN Group, will be awarded the Doctor of Philosophy (D. Phil.) Honoris Causa by Amity University Maharashtra. Mr. Khemka has expanded SUN Group into renewable energy, electric mobility, advanced technology, and private equity, including SUN Renewables and SUN Mobility. SUN Group’s investments include ProLogium and Sandbox AQ. Mr. Khemka has served on the Board of Overseers at Columbia Business School and on the executive committee of FICCI. He received the Knight’s Order of the Falcon. The Khemka family supports sustainability, education, and social entrepreneurship through The Nand & Jeet Khemka Foundation.
Shri. Romal Shetty, the Chief Executive Officer of Deloitte South Asia and a member of Deloitte’s Global Executive Committee, will be awarded the Doctor of Philosophy (D. Phil.) Honoris Causa by Amity University Maharashtra. With over two decades of experience, Shetty has led large transformation programs across 40+ countries, significantly growing Deloitte’s consulting practice in India. He has also spearheaded community initiatives like Anemia Mukt Bharat. A Fellow Member of ICAI and an alumnus of INSEAD, Shetty is known for his strategic vision, people-first approach, and commitment to fostering talent and continuous learning
Shri. Yann André Leroy, an internationally renowned architect, will be awarded the Doctor of Architecture (D. Arch.) Honoris Causa by Amity University Maharashtra. Born in Africa and educated in Paris and Tokyo, Shri. Leroy is known for blending classical European training with contemporary innovation in his designs. He gained recognition in New York at BBG-BBGM and later founded Studio Aria and Yann Leroy Design. Mr. Leroy’s portfolio includes projects like Sofitel New York and St. Regis Residences and Hotel Bangkok. Mr. Yann Leroy Design, established in 2010, specializes in luxury hotels and high-rise residential properties. Leroy has received numerous international design awards, including the Emporis Skyscraper Award in 2000 for the Sofitel New York project. He is also the Design Director at AXS Design.
Prof. Dr. A.W. Santhosh Kumar, Vice Chancellor of Amity University Maharashtra, expressed immense pride in the graduating students, saying, “This convocation is a testament to the resilience, determination, and success of our graduates. It’s a moment to celebrate their academic journey and to look forward to the incredible contributions they will make to society as they step into the professional world.”
He also says that, “Hon’ble President and Chancellor of Amity University Mumbai, Dr. Aseem Chauhan Ji, is a great visionary and guiding force has been our backbone of our journey of success.”
Prof. Dr. A.W. Santhosh Kumar also said, that Hon’ ble Founder President Dr. Ashok Chauhan, has always been the beacon of hope, the guiding light and the strong foundation for the evolving cultures and value system at Amity.
The Convocation Ceremony 2025 of Amity University Mumbai a momentous occasion will be proudly celebrating the achievements of 178 medal winners, 32 doctoral graduates, and 1,505 graduating students.
